FORT COLLINS, Colo. — A Mexican restaurant in Fort Collins is apologizing to customers who were recently impacted by a salmonella outbreak.
The restaurant La Luz Mexican Grill, located in Old Town Fort Collins, said it is working with the Larimer County Health Department to pinpoint the cause of the illnesses, according to a statement from the restaurant.
On Wednesday, there were 19 confirmed cases of salmonella. The restaurant has been a part of Old Town for more than 20 years.
As of Friday morning, the health department hadn’t determined a source of the outbreak.
La Luz said it is taking “various measures to ensure ongoing food safety, such as a staff-wide ServSafe Food Handler program, voluntary employee Salmonella testing and a complete, floor-to-ceiling sanitation process,” according to the statement.
It is unclear when the restaurant will reopen.
