AURORA, Colo. – A kitten stuck in a sewer pipe was rescued by the Aurora Fire Department Friday.

A neighborhood resident in the 900 block of Dayton Street in Aurora heard the cries of the kitten and contacted the fire department.

Aurora Fire crews created a rope from a towel and lowered it eight feet down the pipe to the kitten. The kitten grabbed the towel with its claws and climbed up.

The person that contacted the fire department believed the cat had been stuck in the pipe for at least 24 hours.

There is no information on the owners.
