FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Authorities have recovered the body of a rafter who went missing after his raft capsized on June 29 in Colorado's Poudre River.
On Tuesday afternoon, a kayaker found the body of David L. Smith of Fort Collins a few miles downstream of where the man had fell into the water, according to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.
The man's body was recovered just after 5 p.m. and turned over to the Larimer County Coroner's Office. He was identified on Thursday.

Crews from multiple agencies searched for Smith after he fell into the water using both a ground team and drones. They searched a 12-mile stretch of the river, but were not successful.
