COPE, Colo. – A Kansas man missing for more than a week after a car crash in eastern Colorado was found dead Monday inside an abandoned home about two miles from where the crash occurred.
Charles Stately, 50, had gotten into a crash near County Road 11 and County Road TT outside of the town of Cope while he was with a friend, according to his family.
Investigators had found a woman he was traveling with after the crash, but could not find Stately.
Crews and his family had searched for him, but never found him.
But Monday, his family called Denver7 to report that his body was found about two miles from the crash site inside an abandoned home during a secondary search by the fire department.
