BOULDER, Colo. (Daily Camera) — A judge has ruled the University of Colorado's Board of Regents violated the state's Open Records Act in refusing to release the names of the six semifinalists for the job as the system's president.
The board refused a request for the information filed by the Daily Camera newspaper in Boulder and the newspaper filed a lawsuit last September.
District Court Judge A. Bruce Jones ruled Friday that the regents failed to show that it properly denied the request.
Finalists for chief executive positions are public record under the Colorado Open Records Act.
The judge ordered the university system to produce the information within 21 days. A spokesman for the regents says they're considering options.
