It's wedding season: Here are some of Colorado's highest-rated venues

DENVER – It’s that time of year: Love is in the air and invitations are in the mail.

It’s wedding season.

Colorado is known for its natural beauty and as a result, there is no shortage of stunning places to get married. It can be hard to narrow down your choices, so we thought we’d round up some of the most well-liked venues.

We scoured numerous wedding sites as well as customer review site Yelp to find out which venues newlyweds rave about, from the mountains to the Denver metro area.

Whether you’re getting married or helping a friend plan their nuptials, here are eight of the highest-rated wedding venues in the state:

1. Sunshine Ridge Guest House – Glenwood Springs
Yelp rating: 5 stars

The Sunshine Ridge Guest House is great for a small, intimate wedding – it has a maximum occupancy of 30 people. Yelpers rave about the charming atmosphere and the helpful, welcoming owners.

2. Winding River Ranch – Grand Lake
Yelp rating: 5 stars

Winding River Ranch calls itself “Colorado’s Most Beautiful Wedding Destination.” The venue includes several different locations for both indoor and outdoor weddings, including a private island and barn. The ranch also features cabins so you and your wedding party can stay on-site.

3. Della Terra Mountain Chateau – Estes Park
Yelp rating: 4.5 stars

It doesn’t get much more Colorado than this secluded venue near Rocky Mountain National Park. Della Terra Mountain Chateau has both indoor and outdoor wedding locations as well as 14 luxury suites – each with its own balcony and hot tub – for you and your guests.

4. Denver Botanic Gardens – Denver
Yelp rating: 4.5 stars

The Denver Botanic Gardens may be a popular tourist spot, but it’s also a great place to exchange vows. The Gardens have two locations: On York Street near Cheesman Park and Chatfield Farms in Littleton.

5. Wedgewood on Boulder Creek – Boulder
Yelp rating: 4.5 stars

Exchange vows surrounded by nature at Wedgewood on Boulder Creek. The outdoor ceremony space is nestled among old-growth trees along Boulder Creek. The venue also includes both indoor and outdoor reception spaces.

6. The Lodge at Breckenridge – Breckenridge
Yelp rating: 4 stars

Overlooking Breckenridge Ski Area, The Lodge at Breckenridge is a great choice for winter wedding but it’s available year-round. The venue includes the main lodge with a large deck that can accommodate 220 people.

7. The Manor House – Littleton
Yelp rating: 4 stars

The Manor House is a popular wedding destination due its elegant atmosphere and rich local history. John Charles Shaffer, former owner of the Rocky Mountain News, the Denver Times and the Denver Republican, built the house in 1914.

8. The Pines at Genesee – Golden
Yelp rating: 4 stars

The Pines at Genesee offers a nature setting just 18 miles west of downtown Denver. The venue has plenty of space, with 12,000 square feet and two separate outdoor locations with fantastic views.
