AURORA, Colo. — Five years ago Tuesday, Jevon Bailey was murdered in Aurora, Colorado and the case is still unsolved.

Bailey was shot and killed on Dec. 22, 2015 on East Iliff Avenue at East Warren Drive after an altercation with another man.

Before the shooting, a white 4-door sedan was seen following Bailey in his blue Volkswagon Jetta in the neighborhood north of the shooting scene, according to the original Aurora Police Department press release.

Bailey stopped at a stop sign at the intersection, the sedan pulled up next to him and there was a brief verbal exchange. As Bailey pulled into the intersection, a person in the sedan fired shots at Bailey, one of them hitting and killing him. Bailey then collided with another vehicle on Iliff Avenue.

Police have a very limited description of the gunman and no further details about the sedan he was in.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers is urging anyone with information on the shooting to come forward. Anyone who wishes to remain anonymous and potentially earn a $2,000 reward can call Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867 or leave a tip online.
