DENVER (AP) — Federal investigators have determined an airplane lost engine power prior to a fatal crash in Colorado.
The Colorado Sun reports the National Transportation Safety Board says it could not determine what caused both engines to lose thrust in the June 2016 accident that killed all three people on board.
The agency has released its final report on the crash that killed 51-year-old pilot Jere Ferrill, 28-year-old Mykhayl Sutton and 17-year-old David Louwers.

Officials say the Cessna 320 crashed near the Creede airport after its speed fluctuated drastically during the final two minutes of an aerial photography flight.
The report says "it is likely the engines experienced a loss of power" that caused Ferrill to lose control during its descent to the airport 260 miles (418 kilometers) southwest of Denver.
