Interstate 25 reopens from Hwy 402 up to Hwy 34 following major crash involving 2 semis, passenger vehicle

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — All lanes of Interstate 25 were closed much of Friday morning along a stretch southeast of Loveland due to a crash involving two semis and a passenger vehicle. No injuries were reported, but the interstate was closed for several hours.

At 6:39 a.m., Colorado State Patrol confirmed both northbound and southbound lanes are closed from Highway 402 to Highway 34. Trooper Gary Cutler, public information officer with CSP, said a call came in around 6:18 a.m. about a crash involving two semis and a passenger vehicle in the northbound lanes of I-25 near the County Road 20E bridge. One of the semis is jackknifed and the passenger vehicle is in between the two semis, Cutler said.

This is in an area of construction for the new north I-25 expansion.

In addition, a passenger vehicle in the southbound lanes struck debris from the crash.

CSP said there were no reported injuries.

The interstate was closed at exit 255 northbound and exit 257 southbound for about seven hours, CSP said. Crews will repair barriers in the construction zone.

Just after 1 p.m., CSP said the northbound lanes were open. The southbound lanes followed suit about ten minutes later.

Jared Fiel with the Colorado Department of Transportation said crews were going to the scene to inspect damage, including any impact to the bridge.
