LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — A female inmate is accused of assaulting a deputy at the Larimer County Jail on Thursday afternoon.
Around 12:45 p.m., Brooque Nichols, a 24-year-old inmate at the Larimer County Jail, allegedly assaulted a deputy.
Nichols left her cell and tried to hit a deputy in the face with a closed fist, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office. The deputy restrained Nichols on the ground and she continued to strike and kick the deputy. When the deputy gained control over her, she was placed in a restraint chair.
The deputy had minor lacerations from the assault and was evaluated at a local hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.
Nichols did not report any injuries.
Nichols had been booked into the jail on Sept. 11 on warrants for failure to appear for second-degree assault on a peace officer, failure to appear for attempted second-degree assault on a peace officer and failure to appear for criminal impersonation.
After Thursday’s incident, additional allegations for second-degree assault will be sought, according to the sheriff’s office.
