ARVADA, Colo. — A bicyclist in Arvada died Sunday evening after they were struck by a driver, who fled the scene before turning themselves in to police.

On Sunday around 8:30 p.m., the driver of a Toyota Highlander allegedly struck a bicyclist on Indiana Street between W. 77th Drive and W. 80th Avenue in Arvada.

The bicyclist died as a result of the crash, police said.

Colorado State Patrol requested a Medina Alert around 10:40 p.m. Sunday for the driver of a Toyota Highlander. The vehicle should have damage to its grill and front bumper, they said.

The Medina Alert was canceled early Monday morning after the suspected turned themselves in to the Arvada Police Department.
