DENVER – Tuesday marks the seventh year of Colorado Gives Day, a campaign to increase philanthropy in our state through online giving.

If you want to help a cause your passionate about or just looking to give a little extra during the holiday season, Tuesday might be the best time to donate.

You can donate on the Colorado Gives Day website and select which non-profit your donation will go to. There are thousands of organizations listed on the site. More than $16 million has been raised so far.

As part of the campaign, several events were scheduled Tuesday. The National Sports Center for the Disabled came out to play at Union Station. The group gave out hot chocolate and showed off adaptive ski equipment earlier in the day.

A Dangle and Donate event is slated in Golden this evening. The event will feature a presentation of adaptive athlete Craig DeMartino, who lost his leg in 2002. His presentation will begin at 5 p.m. at Earth Treks Golden, 700 Golden Ridge Road.
