DENVER – Thanks to Mother Nature’s cooperation, this year’s ski and snowboard season in Colorado is gearing up to be a great one.

Arapahoe Basin has already announced its opening date: this Friday! The Black Mountain Express lift will start turning at 9:00 a.m., giving skiers and snowboarders access to the intermediate High Noon trail.

Loveland Ski Area, which competes with A-Basin every year to be the first to open, has yet to announce an opening date. Loveland officials say their snowmaking team is still hard at work and they’re getting close to opening.
