BYERS, Colo. – Two drivers were killed after a head-on crash involving a semi-tractor trailer and a truck near Byers. The crash sparked a large grass fire, which was quickly contained.
The Colorado State Patrol responded to the US 36 mile marker 112 around 9 a.m. Friday. The crash shaved off the top of the truck before igniting the grass.
Troopers say both drivers were killed. At least one other person was airlifted to the hospital.
The fire surrounding the crash scene appears to have been contained.
Details of what led up to the crash are not known.
