1. Happy birthday, Colorado!

2. DMV is out for the count (for a few days)

For the first time in 35 years, a system at the Denver DMV is getting a facelift. The new technology will allow for faster processing, better integration between counties and more, but it also means the DMV will be closed for some time. Check out the details here

3. Controversy swirls around 3-D-printed guns

While a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order Tuesday to stop the release of blueprints to make 3-D-printed plastic guns, which would have become legal today, they could still become a reality in the near future. Some are thrilled about this new technology. Some are concerned about safety risks. We went 360 on the topic to see what Coloradans think. 

4. Love the zoo? We have a deal for you

Anytime the temperatures rises above 90 degrees, you'll get a discount on admission for the Denver Zoo. Denver7 and the zoo have teamed up to offer Bodhi's Bargain Days, named after one of the elephants. The zoo will offer $1 off admission for every degree over 90. 

5. The heat is on

Warmer temperatures are on their way back to the metro area. We'll see highs in the upper 80s by 3 p.m. today, which will lead to possible afternoon storms. You may notice some extra haze, or even smoke, in Denver today as wildfires continue to burn in the western side of the state and the mountains. Here's your full forecast.
