DENVER — Severe weather is swirling around the Denver metro area as a storm system works through Colorado.
Severe Thunderstorm Watches were issued in the afternoon for all of eastern Colorado, including Denver, Arapahoe, Adams, Douglas, Jefferson, Weld, Logan, Larimer, Elbert, Boulder and Broomfield Counties.
In addition, Tornado Warnings were issued for Washington County as a whirling storm swirled in the area at 4:22 p.m. and for Yuma County at around 5:38 p.m.
Reports surfaced just after 1 p.m. of the first strikes of hail formulating in Douglas County. Reports soon followed as a cell developed over Centennial in Arapahoe County.
Storms will continue to develop, releasing a down pouring of rain, a possibility of rain for all of the metro area and the distinct possibility of tornadoes on the eastern plains.
