DENVER - Traffic during morning rush hour in Denver isn't fun. But Friday morning, the excess amount of beeping horns had nothing to do with traffic.

About a dozen people stood on an overpass near Belleview, under about a dozen American flags. They waved, and the drivers below beeped back.

The small crowd was made up of veterans, local law enforcement, and everyday people. They came out to remind people about Veterans Day and in honor of the vets that have served.

Chris Tucker has been organizing events like this on Patriotic holidays since 9/11.

"I'm so honored that they did this for our country. I love this country. I love being here. And I just have to show my patriotism somehow, someway," he said.

Thomas Rodriguez served in Vietnam, and is one of the most decorated veterans in the state of Colorado.

To stand here, with the cars, the trucks the honking, the people showing pride in our nation. This symbolizes what we in the military want to do, and have done. To protect those freedoms," the vet said.
