DENVER — Residents of Denver’s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood rallied Saturday against the rise of gun violence among teens in the city.

According to the Denver Post, 15 teens and children have been shot and killed in the city since Jan. 1, 2018, more than in the previous three years combined.

The Denver neighborhood where the rally took place, outside the Green Valley Ranch Rec Center, has seen its fair share of youth violence.

In the past month and a half, four young people have been shot or killed in the area.

A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed last week.

The victim, later identified as Diego Marquez, was found in Green Valley West Park.

Marquez’s mother and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock were at Saturday’s rally.
