GREELEY, Colo. – A high school teacher in Greeley is accused of sexually assaulting a student, according to the school district.
Richard Davis, 49, a business teacher and cross country coach at Greeley West High School, turned himself in to Greeley police on Thursday morning, a statement from the Greeley-Evans School District 6 said.
Davis faces two counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, according to court records.
The school district had placed Davis on leave last July after a student reported the allegations to administrators. He stayed on leave for the 2018-2019 school year as Greeley police investigated the case.
Davis has worked at Greeley West since August 2013, the district said. Anyone with information about the allegations is asked to contact Greeley police detective Elizabeth Finch at 970-350-9682.
