BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. – A grass fire burned Wednesday afternoon north of Longmont.
The fire put off large smoke plumes around 4 p.m. Wednesday as it burned in a field near North 115th Street and Vermillion Road north of the city.
The sheriff’s office and area firefighters responded to the scene, which wasn't threatening any structures as of 4 p.m. Authorities asked people to avoid the area while firefighting efforts were ongoing.
By 5 p.m., the sheriff's office said the fire had been contained.
