DENVER - Joe Coors Jr, a former Congressional candidate and great-grandson of Colorado brewer Adolph Coors, died Thursday at the age of 74.
Congressman Mike Coffman, who represents the 6th District of Colorado, released the following statement Friday confirming Coors' passing.
"I was honored to call Joe a friend. Most of all, I will miss his warm personality, his generosity, and his immense contributions to our state. My thoughts and prayers go out to Gail and the entire Coors family. Today, Colorado lost one of the good guys.”
Pete Coors, vice-chairman of Molson Coors Brewing Company, said "The entire family is deeply saddened by Joe’s death." Details about Coors' death aren't yet available.
Coors is remembered by many Coloradans for his humorous 'Not a Beer' campaign ad.
