A middle school teacher and father of two is still in intensive care after being stabbed during a home invasion Monday night. Now the family rocked by the attack is thanking the community for their support during this difficult time.
Golden Police said three men knocked on the door of Jesse and Jessica Swift's home on Washington Avenue Monday around 9 p.m.
Police said the men went to the home expecting to find $10,000 in cash and drugs but were given the wrong address.

"The husband quickly got into an altercation with all three suspects in an attempt to stop them," Golden police spokeswoman Karlyn Tilley said in a news release. "At one point he was able to grab a knife from the kitchen and stab one of the suspects."
Tilley said during the altercation, Jessica Swift ran out of the house to a neighbor and called 911.
"Please, help, please, my husband is bleeding very badly," she is heard saying on the 911 call.
Jesse Swift has stab wounds to his kidney and a punctured lung, along with several other lacerations, police said.
The family's two children were in the basement asleep during the incident.
The Swift family issued the following statement on Wednesday:
“We are overwhelmed by the care and concern we have received from the Jeffco Schools community, our Golden neighbors, and everyone else who is sending positive thoughts our way. We love being a part of the Golden community. The outpouring of love and support is amazing. Our many thanks to all of you.
"Jesse is still in ICU but in stable condition. He is in remarkably good spirits and is expected to make a full recovery.
"At this time, we ask that you please respect our privacy so that we can heal as a family. Thank you again for the outpouring of love we have felt from you.”
One of the suspects was also hospitalized. He has been identified as Caleb Williams, 21.
Police later took a 17-year-old male into custody but did not identify him because he is a juvenile.
Police are still looking for 20-year-old Cody Aaron Jones.
