Glenn: Undecided on whether or not he'll vote for Trump

DENVER -- After calling on the Republican nominee for President to step aside, U.S. Senate candidate Darryl Glenn has gone back on his decision to not vote for Donald Trump.

Glenn, who is a Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in Colorado, said through a spokeswoman on Saturday that he would not vote Donald Trump.

Earlier that day, Glenn's camp emailed a statement to Denver7 political reporter Marshall Zelinger, saying Glenn would pray for guidance.

Zelinger asked for clarification from his spokeswoman. In a text message she replied, "He will not vote for Donald Trump."

On Monday, Glenn backed off of that stance, saying he may meet with Donald Trump to discuss his comments made public last Friday, which were a focus at the second Presidential debate.

"I'm actually going to get on a plane, we're trying to arrange that right now, on Thursday to go out there and personally talk to Mr. Trump," Glenn said.

He said he also wants to discuss other topics mentioned at the debate, including Trump's claim that he wants to be a president and leader for every person in the U.S., including those in less than fortunate areas.

It appears Trump's comments in the debate may have helped Glenn along after his camp solidly said he would not vote for the candidate.

"He needed to do what he did during the debate," Glenn said. "Number one, he needed to apologize and accept personal responsibility for that. He did that."

To Glenn, Trump now needs to put his money where his mouth is.

"I want to look him in the eye and extend an invitation for him to come to Colorado and have those conversations with the underserved communities," Glenn said.

In a taping for an extended version of 'Politics Unplugged' on Monday, Denver7 anchor Anne Trujillo asked Glenn if he hadn't yet decided who he would cast a vote for.

Glenn replied, "Correct."

Trujillo then asked Glenn, "You won't say who you are voting for yet?"

"I am not supporting Hillary Clinton and I believe that Donald Trump, based on what he is saying, I want to see if he is a man of action, and he's willing to come and talk to the underserved community and have that conversation," said Glenn.
