DENVER – A Denver man with a history of sexually assaulting children is the state’s 12th most-wanted sex offender.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Denver Sheriff’s Department are actively looking for Dennis Martinez, 56, who is wanted for violating his parole on a sexual assault conviction.

Martinez was convicted in 2011 of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. He violated his probation last year, and the Denver Sheriff’s Department issued a warrant for his arrest on Oct. 3, 2016.

He also has an active warrant from the Denver Police Department for failing to register as a sex offender.

Martinez is a Hispanic man, described as 5-foot-7 and approximately 150 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone with information on Martinez’s whereabouts is asked to call the CrimeStoppers hotline at 1-800-222-TIPS or the CBI tip line at 303-239-5732.
