6:58 p.m.: San Luis Valley emergency officials now say the Springs Fire east of Fort Garland is estimated to be more than 1,200 acres in size.
#SpringFire east of Fort Garland has grown to excess of 1200 acres. Type 2 team will assume command tomorrow. More information will be available for the media mid-day tomorrow/Thursday.

6:05 p.m.: San Luis Valley emergency officials say the Springs Fire east of Fort Garland is estimated to be 755 acres in size. There's a mandatory evacuation for Forbes Park; with evacuation notices sent to 383 homes. The fire remains at zero percent containment.
5:52 p.m.: The Middle Creek Area in Huerfano County has been place on pre-evacuation notice due to the fire in Costilla County, the Huerfano Emergeny Dispatch said.

5:14 p.m.: An evacuation notice has been put in place for Forbes Park in Costilla County, Colorado, according to San Luis Valley officials. A shelter location has been activated at the Blanca-Fort Garland Community Center.

11:28 a.m.: Crews are working a structure fire at 119th and Colman in Broomfield. North Metro Fire crews encountered heavy smoke when they arrived. No word on injuries or damages at this time.
