9:38 p.m.: Thornton Police say they have taken the barricaded suspect into custody. This is an ongoing investigation. Residents in the area were being called to be notified the situation had been resolved.
8:48 p.m.: The Thornton police say a barricaded subject situation began as a report of a shots fired call in the 13000 block Madison St. near E. 137th Avenue. at around 5 p.m. An arriving officer at the house saw the man in the backyard of the house with a gun. SWAT officers were later called after the man ran back into the house. They are negotiating a resolution to the standoff.
6:40 p.m.: Thornton police are responding to a barricaded subject in the area of 138th Avenue and Colorado Blvd. Residents in the area of 137th Avenue between Garfield Street and Steel Ct told to shelter in place.
