12:57 p.m. — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said its Child Sex Offender Internet Investigations Unit (Cheezo) met up with a potential suspect around W. Chatfield Avenue and S. Piece Street shortly before noon. The man ran from investigators. He is described as a dark-skinned man with blue jeans and a red shirt. He is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 180 pounds. If you see him, call 911. The sheriff's office said the schools are not at risk and the lockouts are a precaution. They do not believe the suspect is a threat.

12:40 p.m. — JeffCo Public Schools said several schools in its district are on lockout due to nearby police activity. Being in lockout means the schools have restricted exits/entrances. The following schools are on lockout:

  • Columbine High School
  • Columbine Hills Elementary
  • Columbine Hills Elementary
  • Leawood Elementary School
  • Dutch Creek Elementary
  • Ken Caryl Middle School
  • Blue Heron Elementary
  • Coronado Elementary School
