DENVER — Friday’s workday may just go to the dogs. Literally.
Friday marks the 20th annual Take Your Dog To Work Day. The worldwide event was created by Pet Sitters International (PSI) in 1999 as a way to give back to the pet community. It's a mission that still stands today.
Businesses around the globe are welcome to participate and allow their employees to bring their friendly dogs into the workplace Friday.
The annual event celebrates furry companions, but also strives to show coworkers without pets the benefit of adopting a dog, PSI said.
PSI urges pet owners to check with management and coworkers to ensure nobody is allergic, afraid or opposed to dogs in the office. The organization also advises to dog-proof the workspace where it will stay.
Participants can join the online conversation on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #TakeYourDogToWorkDay.
