FORT MORGAN, Colo. — A community in northeast Colorado is mourning the loss of a 16-year-old football player killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday night.
According to a statement from the Colorado State Patrol, the Fort Morgan High School student was driving a 2003 Ford pickup around 6 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle going around a curve on County Road W.
The student, identified by the Morgan County School District as Daniel Narvaez, was ejected as the truck flipped. He was the only occupant of the truck.
Daniel was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers say. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
