FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Fort Collins police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate burglaries in the city that could be connected to at least 20 other crimes along the Front Range.
Since January, detectives with Fort Collins Police Services have investigated five break-ins with similar details, leading officers to believe they may be related. All of the crimes occurred in the daylight and the homeowners were of Asian descent and own local small businesses, like restaurants or salons, police said.
In each case, the suspect or suspects forced their way into the home and, typically, targeted cash. None of the residents were at their homes at the time of the crimes.
Fort Collins police said these five break-ins may be connected to at least 20 similar burglaries since January in other jurisdictions, like Arapahoe County, Douglas County, Jefferson County, Greeley and Castle Rock.
Detectives are working with the business community to identify potential leads, but are asking for the public’s help.
