FORT CARSON, Colo. — A Special Forces medical sergeant who was stationed at Fort Carson died Sunday from non-combat related injuries in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced Monday.
Sgt. 1st Class Elliott J. Robbins, 31, was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne). He died following the incident in the Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Details of the event have not been released, but the DOD said it’s under investigation.
Robbins was from Ogden, Utah and joined the Army in June 2006, according to a DOD release. He completed the Special Forces Qualification Course and was assigned to 10th SFG (A) in 2016.
The decorated soldier deployed to Iraq in 2007, and twice to Afghanistan in support of Special Operations in 2017 and 2019, the DOD release read.
Three other Fort Carson soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan this year. Sgt. 1st Class Will Lindsay and Spc. Joseph P. Collette died in March, and Master Sgt. Micheal B. Riley died in June.
