FORT CARSON, Colo. – Former President George W. Bush appeared at a job summit for returning soldiers in southern Colorado Wednesday morning.
Hundreds of active military members, veterans and others attended the summit, aimed at helping ex-soldiers transition to civilian life.
President Bush spoke to those in attendance, telling them they have to take the first step in the transition and that there is help out there to combat ailments like PTSD that often affect soldiers returning to civilian life, according to ABC affiliate KRDO.
Hundreds of soldiers deploy in and out of Fort Carson every year, and the two-day job summit features more than 150 employers looking to help their transition.
