DENVER – if it seems like a lot of people have the flu this year, you're right.
So far this season, 1,797 flu-related hospitalizations have been reported to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. That is a significant increase from last year, when 1,639 hospitalizations were reported for the entire season.
Health officials say they are also seeing an increase in long-term care facility outbreaks
Officials don't know yet if we've hit the peak. The Center for Disease Control said that flu activity is expected to last several more weeks.
More than 650 people have been hospitalized in just the last three weeks in Colorado.
