1. Five-year anniversary of Waldo Canyon Fire
Friday marks the five-year anniversary of the Waldo Canyon Fire, the state's second most devastating wildfire in history. Colorado Springs city officials will sign a resolution today that urges residents and businesses to reflect on the city's recovery.

2. Mike Coffman to meet with Russian ambassador
U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman, R-Colo., will meet today with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the U.S., to try and get extra help in finding and bringing home a Colorado police officer who went missing while climbing a Russian mountain last week.

3. Vice President Mike Pence to speak at Focus on the Family event in Colorado Springs
Vice President Mike Pence will be in Colorado Springs tonight to speak at a Focus on the Family event. The vice president is scheduled to take part in the conservative organization’s 40th anniversary celebration.

4. It's Take Your Dog to Work Day!
If your workplace allows pets, today's a great day to take advantage. Advocates say having a dog in the office boosts morale and fosters connections between coworkers.

5. Cooler and wetter weather
Friday is off to a wet start, with showers throughout the Denver metro area. Expect highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.
