BROOMFIELD, Colo. – Fire badly damaged two homes and a camper in Broomfield overnight Tuesday. Paramedics took one person to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
Firefighters say the fire started in the camper and spread to the homes located in the 800 block of West 8th Avenue in Broomfield.
One of the homeowners told Denver7 that she awoke to the flames and quickly alerted the other occupant of the home. They both safely escaped.
The homeowner said the camper where the fire started has been illegally parked in the neighborhood for some time. She says the man who owns the camper was recently arrested.
Fire investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
