The Denver Fire Department says an explosion may have started a fire that burned in a crematorium on Monday afternoon.
Heavy smoke was showing when crews arrived to the building near East 39th Avenue and Niagara Street in the Stapleton area.
Firefighters pulled two employees from the building. Paramedics treated them for smoke inhalation but they’re OK.
The Denver Fire Department tells Denver7 that there are signs of possible explosion but they’re still investigators are still figuring out what happened.
The building cremates humans and animals. The fire broke out on the side of the building that handles animals.
Denver7 was told on scene that the damage appears to be limited to the machine.
