DENVER — One person was injured during a fire at the Tortillas Mexico tortilla factory off Santa Fe Drive in Denver Thursday.
The call came in at 5:28 p.m. as thick, dark smoke quickly covered the sky above the factory located at 840 West 11th Avenue.
Firefighters initially said they pulled a “pretty severely injured” person from the building and transported them to Denver Health Medical Center. But a few hours later, the Denver Fire Department said in a tweet that the person self-evacuated and had suffered moderate injuries."

It's not clear what type of injury the person had.
Employees told Denver7 that a boiler inside the kitchen exploded and then caught fire.
A spokesperson with Denver Fire said at least 60 firefighters were dispatched to fight the two-alarm blaze.
