It was Denver’s top trending topic on Twitter Tuesday.

FBI Director James Comey saying he is not recommending criminal charges for Presumptive Democratic Presidential Nominee Hillary Clinton.

The decision comes after a year-long investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server during her time as Secretary of State.

"Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless,” said Comey.

A Denver-based Platte River Systems is the server company that’s been at the center of the investigation, but the hardware itself is located out-of-state.

Denver7 reached out for comment, but the company did not respond to our requests.

While the company isn’t talking, people around Denver are, and many of them say the decision isn’t surprising.

“As is typical, we spend a lot of money and a lot of time to find that there's nothing there and not entirely sure that if Hillary was a man that it would have the same scrutiny that has happened because she's a woman,” said visitor from Oregon, Shannon Mashinchi.

Denver resident, Alan Harris said, “It didn't surprise me, there's been a lot of cover up with that and apparently she's very guilty because they would not be doing the pending investigation along with the voting scandal."

While not everyone agrees with the decision, nobody we spoke with believes it will impact her presidential run.
