DALLAS, Tx. -- When a sharpshooter opened fire on officers in Dallas, one family in Denver answered the call for help.
William Saulton and Colin O'Hayre are father and son, and both work for police agencies. Saulton is a Denver homicide detective and O'Hayre is a Dallas senior corporal.
Combined, the two have nearly four decades of policing experience, and the tragedy in Dallas brought them together again.
Saulton traveled to Dallas, Texas to be with his son and their police force in the face of the tragedy.
Saulton and O'Hayre stood together as five officers were laid to rest. Their family is hoping the officers laid to rest will be remembered as heroes.
