ERIE, Colo. - Erie police are warning residents to lock up their cars and homes after a rash of vehicle break-ins and home burglaries over the summer.
Police said they have received 11 reports of vehicle trespasses and burglaries throughout Erie since May. In each case, police say the vehicles and homes targeted were left unlocked.
Erie police remind residents that it only takes a few minutes to steal items of value from a vehicle or a residence. Thieves often grab cell phones, iPads, wallets, keys and other small, easy-to-conceal items.
Anyone with information regarding these or any other crimes are asked to please contact the Erie Police Department at 303-926-2800.
