EB I-70 crash at Chief Hosa snarls weekend traffic

A CRASH ON EASTBOUND INTERSTATE 70 NEAR THE CHIEF HOSA EXIT SUNDAY EVENING IS CREATING SIGNIFICANT DELAYS FOR TRAVELERS RETURNING TO THE DENVER AREA FROM THE MOUNTAINS. — EVERGREEN, Colo. — A crash on eastbound Interstate 70 near the Chief Hosa exit Sunday evening is creating significant delays for travelers returning to the Denver area from the mountains.

Bumper-to-bumper traffic on eastbound I-70 came to a virtual standstill around 5:30 p.m. following the crash. The Colorado Department of Transportation tweeted that only one lane is open in the area.

Four vehicles were involved and at least one person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
