RTD is launching a new safety campaign called "Dumb Ways To Die" on Thursday with an eye-popping cartoon.

After repeated views and much discussion in the newsroom, we are still struggling to find the words to describe it. Most of us agreed with "morbidly funny" and "catchy yet disturbing."

It features cute, round characters doing things like decapitating themselves in a plane crash and having their "private parts" eaten by piranhas.

You'll have to watch it for yourself. But be warned, the song will get stuck in your head all day. Also, you might think it's a little gross.

"RTD is partnering with Metro Trains Melbourne in Australia, where the Dumb Ways to Die video has already proven to be a success, resulting in more than 75 million pledges worldwide from people committed to being safe around trains," RTD stated.

As a part of the launch, the Union Station bus concourse is covered in graphics of the characters and costumed mascots will be making an appearance.

RTD staff will be out encouraging people to sign a safety pledge and handing out safety information and giveaways.

The Dumb Ways to Die video already has more than 120 million views on YouTube.

If you really love the video, there are also two Dumb Ways To Die games you can download on your Apple or Android devices.
