THORNTON, Colo. – Duluth Trading Company, known for its clothing designed specifically for working men and women, is opening its first store in Colorado.
The store, located at 16557 Washington St. in Thornton, is slated to open on Thursday, Sept. 7.
Duluth Trading is perhaps best known for its Longtail T-shirt, which is a few inches longer in the back to prevent the dreaded problem known as “plumber’s crack.” The company sells a variety of shirts, pants, tool bags and other items marketed toward tradesmen and women.
The Thornton location will be Duluth Trading’s westernmost store in the United States and the company says Colorado was a natural choice as it looked to expand.
“We already have a strong customer base in Colorado, which we’re able to track through online and catalog orders. Opening up a physical store allows that customer base to be able to touch and feel product and experience our unique retail environment,” said District Manager Mark Pickart. “Our functional product line is a great match for Coloradans who are looking for durable outdoor clothing.”
The company says the Thornton store will employ between 35 and 40 people.
