DENVER - The founder of Dueling Pianos Roadshow will be taking his show off the road and into prison. James Bzdek, 43, was sentenced Friday in a Denver courtroom to 20 years behind bars for stealing more than $200,000.
Prosecutors say Bzdek stole credit card numbers and banking information from the people he employed and clients of the legitimate business, Dueling Pianos Roadshow. Bzdek billed clients multiple times and kept the extra amount, and also opened credit card processing accounts in victims’ names to commit credit card fraud.
Bzdek was already on probation for an earlier theft case, and was prohibited from opening bank accounts and entering into financial contracts.
