Aurora Police are looking for the suspect who shot and killed a man driving on Tuesday morning.

Police were called to the scene of a crash at East Iliff Avenue and South Troy Street at 10:40 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found one of the drivers involved in the crash had been shot in the head.

Crash, shooting investigation shut down Aurora road for hours

The victim was identified Wednesday as Jevon Antwaine Bailey, 23. Bailey was rushed to the hospital, but doctors couldn't save him.

The driver of the second vehicle was not injured in the crash.

Aurora Police are looking for a 4-door sedan related to this investigation. They say the car was seen following Bailey before the wreck. According to witnesses, the suspect driver and Bailey had a verbal exchange at a stop sign at East Iliff and East Warren Drive before the victim was shot. That driver shot and killed Bailey, whose car then collided with the other vehicle.

Bailey drove a blue Volkswagon Jetta. If anyone saw the vehicle trailing him, police want information. Police said the driver was a black man.

Detectives and investigators from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigations Unit are handling the investigation.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who might have witnessed the shooting. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Agent Matt Ingui at 303-739-6067.
