HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — Authorities said the driver of a car that crashed through townhomes in Highlands Ranch Wednesday morning may have suffered a medical episode.
The driver was injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
It happened around 9:30 a.m. at 9737 Dunning Circle, just south of Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch.
Deputies said the driver came off Grace Boulevard at Fairview Parkway and crashed through portions of two townhomes, leaving a gaping hole in the roof of one of the homes’ garages.
When fire crews arrived on scene, there was a concern of a gas leak, but deputies said that was quickly contained. They are now looking into the structural integrity of the homes.
The adult male driver, whose name and age have not been released, was transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.
Traffic investigators will be working to determine what happened.
