Snowy weather and travel warnings can't delay love.
Dozens of people braved the Colorado winter to kick off the 70th anniversary of the Loveland Valentine Remailing Program on Monday. They were ready to hand-stamp a Sweetheart City design on more than 150,000 valentines rerouted to Loveland before continuing to destinations across the world.
The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1KnQVeK ) that volunteers rarely stop stamping, so prospective stampers can spend years on the waiting list. It's currently 70 names long.
Wilma Davis and Paul Wallace got their first shot at stamping Monday. The best friends had waited 12 years for the opportunity.
Nearby, Delaine Phillips and her two friends handled unusual mail items. With 75 years' stamping experience between of them, they are prepared to handle everything from glued-on macaroni to lace and frills.
