Denver — You’re invited to watch the Denver night sky explode with fireworks to ring in 2019.

The 17th annual Downtown Denver New Year’s Eve Fireworks returns Dec. 31 with shows at 9 p.m. and midnight.

The fireworks will launch off the roof of Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel and one other undisclosed location. Eights DJs will play music along the 16th Street Mall in sync with the display.

Each show will last about eight minutes and can be seen anywhere along the 16th Street Mall.

“With two incredible displays, the Downtown Denver New Year’s Eve Fireworks provide the perfect atmosphere for all ages to ring in 2019. Whether this is a family tradition or a first-time experience, the crowd will be wowed,” said Sharon Alton, vice president of downtown experience for the Downtown Denver Partnership. “We encourage everyone to make a night of it by coming downtown with family and friends to shop, dine, skate at the Downtown Denver Ice Rink, and stay overnight at one of the amazing hotels.”

New Year’s Eve is expected to be cold, with a slight chance of precipitation, so if you’re headed out that evening, bundle up.

The annual event is presented by the Downtown Denver Partnership and co-sponsored by VISIT DENVER and the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District.
