On Tuesday a task force made up of members of the Douglas County School District community will present its recommendations on how to return to school buildings in August.

The DCSD Board of Education will review the recommendations before finalizing a plan.

Douglas County is the latest district to reveal what school may look like amid the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic. JeffCo Schools and Cherry Creek Schools released plans last week.

Both of those districts announced that elementary schools will provide full in-person learning options, along with remote learning options. High schools and middle schools will likely see a hybrid model, with some days spent in the classroom and some days spent at home.

Douglas County's Restart and Recovery plan proposes an eLearning option to be offered at every school as an alternative to in-person learning for families. For families that want in-person learning, the plan addresses social distancing in buildings and on school buses. The task force is recommending allowing 24 students per 77 passenger bus, with masks required. Bus routes that are closest to schools may be eliminated.
