A dog that gave comfort and support to victims of the Aurora Theater shooting during the trial is now in the running for a national Hero Dog Award.
Chester was one of four therapy dogs present almost every day of the four-month trial.
He developed severe neck pain after the trial and was diagnosed with a spinal infection.
C.S.U.'s veterinary hospital treated Chester, who is now doing better, according to his handler.
He is one of the nominees in the therapy category of the American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards.
You can vote for him until April 27 at www.herodogawards.org
If Chester wins, Animals 4 Therapy will receive $2,500 from American Humane Association.
